Kindness is important. We believe kids need kindness in their daily actions and by outreach to community organizations with messages they feel passionate about and through whom their voices can be heard
Daily kindness behaviors and involvement with community organizations are important for kids because they foster empathy, teach valuable social skills, and instill a sense of responsibility toward others. These experiences not only promote positive relationships and emotional well-being but also nurture a strong sense of community and social connectedness, which are essential for personal growth and a more compassionate society.
empathy [em-puh-thee] (noun) the understanding of or the ability to identify with another person's feelings or experiences
Empathy
When we put ourselves in another person’s shoes, we are often more sensitive to what that person is experiencing and are less likely to tease or bully them.
Empathy is a common theme in social emotional learning because it is the backbone of Social Awareness. You need to know yourself and your emotions and how to manage them, but you will also be learning how to understand how other people feel.
Gratitude is a deep appreciation for the good things in our lives. It involves acknowledging and recognizing the positive aspects, experiences, and people that we are grateful for. Practicing gratitude has been extensively researched and has been found to have numerous benefits for our well-being.
Research has shown that regularly practicing gratitude can improve our mental health by reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety. It can boost our immune system, improve sleep quality, increase happiness, satisfaction with life, and overall well-being. That's a lot of good stuff!
Anxiety likes to tell us there's something to fear, something that is negative is going to happen, or something is wrong with us that we're afraid.
Practicing something that doesn't come naturally is a good place to start.

Charities
Charity is an important part of being kind. You have to be able to see beyond yourself and your wants in order to help someone (or something) else. Being charitable teaches you about civic engagement, community organizations, and charities, the importance of volunteering or service learning, and diversity.
Kindness is choosing to do something that helps others or yourself, motivated by genuine warm feelings.
Kindness, or doing good, often means putting other people’s needs before our own. It could be by giving up our seat on a bus to someone who might need it more, or offering to make a cup of tea for someone at work.
Evidence shows that helping others can also benefit our own mental health and wellbeing. For example, it can reduce stress as well as improve mood, self-esteem and happiness.
There are so many ways to help others as part of our everyday lives. Good deeds needn’t take much time or cost any money.
